Prof Jake Effoduh

Jake Okechukwu Effoduh is a Nigerian-born lawyer, academic, and author serving as Assistant Professor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada, where he teaches Technology, Law and Society.
Professor Effoduh has informed regulatory frameworks and policy formulation on artificial intelligence for supranational organisations and domestic institutions in several countries, including the United States, Brazil, and Nigeria.
He previously served as Chief Counsel of the Africa-Canada Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation Consortium, and has held fellowships at the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, the University of Ottawa's Centre for Law, Technology and Society, the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance, and Carnegie Mellon's Center for Human Rights Science.
He is a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Frontier Risks and a Forum expert on human rights. His research sits at the intersection of international law, human rights, and AI, with works published by the Harvard Human Rights Journal, Oxford University Press, and the Journal of Robotics, AI & Law, among others.
